What would you do in my situation?

it sounds like your already sunk if you NEED to met him, you need to be up front with your parents at some point. if you talk to them and act like an adult they will treat you like one. but saying you just need to meet someone doesnt sound very rational. Try to leave out the word need if and when you talk with them. maybe your parents will appreciate your honesty and go. Sorry! and no im not a parent.
