Question about building pcs.?

I was building a pc yesterday and I made sure I grounded myself. Everything was off. I touched the 6pin connector and got a shock. is it possible that there was still electricity in the connector or did i shock it with static? Can't test it becuase dont have a tester or a card that uses that connection. Everything else seems fine.
