Quad vs duo core which?

Most average consumers will not take advantage of the additional cores in a Quad core cpu over a Dual core system. Also, Dual-Core CPUs tend to run at much higher frequencies/$ than a Quad core which will equate in both tangible performance gains as well as tangible money saved.
